How many times have you heard the cliche´; They don't make 'em like they use to. When I see the architecture of an older building my mind wanders to days gone by, who lived in this building, were they happy, did they have children, or perhaps a dog or a cat?
Who do think lived in these buildings, do some buildings look like happier places than others, where does your mind wander when you see these buildings?
A few photos of older architecture...
The first group of houses looked like ones in Ireland and England and my first thought, it looks really crowded and there's no space between them. One photo looked like a firehouse.
ReplyDeletelovely! living in AK our buildings are less than 80 years old and more like from the 70s building boom--I wish we had OLD up here
ReplyDeleteI love old houses but strangely have always lived in newer ones. The old architecture and attention to detail cant be bettered.
ReplyDeleteYou must have been eavesdropping into one of mine and Steve's chats, we say this on an almost daily basis!Rx

ReplyDeleteabsolutely love old buildings.... it makes good use of the imagination :) i love the pics of the details :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a certain romance to pre 1946 buildings that I love. Things were carefully planned and picked out to make each home, a home. Granted things were cheaper then too!
ReplyDeleteEverything you post about is dear to my heart!! Gorgeous shots!!
