Thrift Share
Sister's breakfast Sunday morning at Emily's pancakes house was a surprise for me. I ordered two eggs, pancakes, and bacon, breakfast special # 1 on the menu. When my breakfast order arrived the plate had four eggs over easy looking at me, FOUR EGGS! "I ordered special #1 with two eggs," I explained. Well, here is the scoop, Emily's is owned by a Greek family, and it is their practice to double your egg order for good luck. I was full until dinner time.
While waiting for my breakfast to arrive I called my Illinois niece and congratulated her about her GW find, a George Foreman grill for $3.00. She has a college aged son that will enjoy this. In jest, I asked her if she wanted to shop at the GW with us that morning. My sweet sister missed the kidding tone in my voice so after breakfast off we went to one of our favorite GW's.
I'm having a hard time understanding the price system that Goodwill has, some items are overpriced and some items are extremely reasonable. While shopping the toy section, I found four Melissa & Doug wood handle puzzles marked 99¢ each, while the off brand wooden puzzle was marked $1.99.
Here, are the treasures that I found while thrifting...
This charming little girl captured my heart.
Where is she going with her little companion?
This small 4.5 X 5 inch framed beauty will
find a home in one of my nooks or cranny.
Cost of this precious picture, 49¢.
This Greek girl has an embroidered dress, with Rhodian
deer atop the columns that protect Mandraki harbor
entrance, on the Greek island of Rhodes in the background.
Cost of postcard 99¢
I wonder if the person who bought this postcard forgot
to send it or just a lovely momento from their trip?
Looking forward to see what everyone else found this week.

Will Drawer Decor help my clutter utensil drawer?
I think I can smell cleaning products while I"m reading my favorite blogs. It seems everyone is doing major spring cleaning and organizing in January! Not wanting to be left out of the fun I have decided to clean out the kitchen cabinets and drawers, but the drawer clean out will have to wait until my new gadget Drawer Decor arrives.
Drawer Decor is a silicone mat with wedges, called divitz, that separate utensils so your drawer is always neat and orderly. With Drawer Decor, you can customize your utensils to suit your culinary needs.
Since I am now a fan of YouTube I searched for a video, and I found one!
I signed up to become a member of Open Sky and receive emails from people who select items to go on sale. This item was selected by OrgJunkie, and I took the bait, ordered two of these in red for my utensil drawers. I sure hope this will end my cluttered drawers. I'll let you know when it arrives, and I install this organizer in my kitchen drawers.
This is my personal opinion. I have not been compensated in any way by Open Sky or Drawer Decor.

Meet the Goodwill Guy from YouTube
Everyone raves about YouTube for finding out how to do something, make something, cook something, sing a song, showcase talented kids, and a whole lot more.
In the past, I have not taken the time to use this resource but today I sat down and typed in a few things that interest me like Goodwill. Here, are a few YouTube videos that made my day.
Goodwill Guy on YouTube what a hoot!

Sprucing up my computer
I have read some stories from blogger friends that were MIA for several days even weeks because of computer problems. Today I am making time for several computer chores, and perhaps I can avoid the heart break of lost photos and important documents.
Today I will want to...
•Back up my hard drive using, a flash drive, external hard drive, and start using the cloud.
•Clean off the desktop of items no longer useful and storing all items in the proper folder.
•Clean out download folder and empty trash.
•Remove applications no longer used
•Clean up cookies and temp internet files
•Check bookmarks, and trash the ones that no longer work or I don't use
AND
•Clean out my email accounts by;
•Deleting all SENT/draft emails that I no longer need
•Saving important email in folders that are labeled
•Deleting emails that are not necessary
•Emptying my email trash
My final project on the computer will be wiping the monitor, keyboard, and mouse, of finger prints, dust, and little chunks that my little grandchildren have left for me.
When this project is finished I will have freed up some disk space with hopes that my computer will run a little faster.
Have you backed up your computer lately?

2012, cliche for the year
My mother always had a little saying for everything when she wanted to make her point. These are the sayings that linger in my mind to this day.
Don't cross your eyes - they'll get stuck that way.
A stitch in time saves nine.
Don't hit your mother or your hand will stick out of your grave. I must have been a hitter when younger.
Curiosity killed the cat. Sounds as if I was nosey.
Third times a charm.
I find myself repeating some of these same cliches to my children and grandchildren. Sorry kids, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
This is a photo of my mother with her sisters and brother.
My mother is the young girl sitting on the table. (second on the left)
My sister has a cliche for the whole year. I remember 2010, my sister's favorite saying would be; "Who gives a rat's ass." By the end of 2010, after I told her a story or one of my problems, I would end with...
"I know who gives a rat's ass." because I knew that's what she would say.
In 2011, it changed to, "It is what it is." Well of course it is, but can't we change it or bitch about it! She would just repeat the phrase. Frustrating!
It appears that the catch phrase for 2012, has become "Just let it go." My sister has the ability to let things slide right off her back, another mom saying, I missed that gene.
This morning while drinking my first cup of coffee, I get a phone call from my sweet sister, reading me an article Manner Up! from the insert Parade in today's Sunday newspaper. It's a Q & A column, and it appears that the writer of the column also embraces my sisters 2012 catch phrase. She ends her answer to the writer's question with, Let it go.
So it's official my sisters catch phrase or 2012 is ....

maybe this truly is sound advice.
