Blogs Are Friendship Circles

Since my last post on November 25th, I went to Europe and experienced the Christmas markets, celebrated both my daughters birthdays, enjoyed the holidays with my family and friends, and rang in the New Year.

At one,  point I wasn't sure that I was going to continue blogging, my blog doesn't really have a point of view, I write about what interests me and the places that I have visited. Did my readers or lack of them really care if I continued to blog? I don't have a DIY gene in my body, I'm not an excellent cook, and I'm just a mediocre writer.

Blogging is a community where people pop in and out of blog post gleaning information, reading funny and often times sad stories, learn how to do projects, and enjoy the photojournalism blogs that communicate through pictures. I have been inspired, saddened, laughed, learned, and upset by blog posts that I have read, and that is what a blog post should do.

I have been inspired to read books that I never would have thought to pick up, cook something delicious from a posted recipe, but most important of all I have made friends through blog posts. You may not realize that I consider you a friend but every morning I check on my friends through their posts. I see your grandchildren/children grow, I have celebrated weddings with you, had been saddened when your loved ones have passed, and smiled at the many wonderful photos that I have seen. You may not know my name or that I exist but because of your blog I know and appreciate you

My blog has given me is the opportunity to make friends from all around the world. During my hiatus, I received several emails inquiring about my absence from blogging, and hoping everything was alright in my life. I can tell you I was surprised that anyone noticed my absence and thrilled that these people cared enough to take the time to sit down and jot me an email. Thank you.

So tomorrow I will continue blogging where I left off, I will show my finished kitchen. Yep, the remodel is finished!

Cheerfully,

  1. No need to worry about your "niche" or POV. Write because it brings you joy and community!

  4. I don't think my blog has much of a point of view either but I like doing it even if no one reads it. I just am not one of those people that can blog everyday, so I just do it when I have something to share. I for one am glad to see you back. I enjoy your posts, I love history too. I can't believe you went to Europe, hope you share some pictures. It is my dream to go one day!

  6. Paulette, you've hit the nail squarely on the head. We're building community and friendship circles with blogging and that's the most important part of blogging imo.
So glad you're back, it looks like you've had an enjoyably busy time!
