Life part two...

After twenty three years of working, for Kenosha Unified School District, on June 13, 2011 I retired. The pension checks arrive on the first of every month, but not until school started on September 1st did I feel retired.

I am in the process of putting together part two of my life, I would like to start selling my thrift treasures on Esty, or eBay. I have tons of books that I want to sell on Amazon. Thanks to the many blogs that I read I am getting a sense of how to sell on these various sites. Suggestion, comments, and advice are most welcome.
I'm also toying with the idea of making my own laundry soap. I have read many articles and even spoken with people who have made there own.  From saving money to being Eco friendly are the reasons for making your own laundry soap.

At the end of May, my son and grandson came over and installed clothes lines for me, and I am one happy person. Thanks Aaron and Declan for all of your hard work, it is very appreciated. I love how my clothes smell after coming off the line. All the more reason to make laundry detergent.

So as part two of my life evolves so will this blog, stay tuned.

  1. Love the colorful clothes pins. Let me know if the soap is successful.

  2. I make my own laundry detergent and it works great, although without the brighteners. So, when washing my husband's work clothes or towels I use the homemade stuff with 1/2 c. of bleach; when washing our good clothes, I use Gain.

  3. Wow, we have a Declan in our family too, it's such an unusual name. Good luck with you soap, we sell on Etsy but haven't had too much luck yet. I think it takes some time to build up your business there.
