Celebration Mass and May Crowning

Over three hundred children's voices sang ;
Hail, holy Queen, enthroned above, oh Maria.
Hail, mother of mercy and of love, oh Maria.
Triumph all ye cherubim, Sing with us ye seraphim.
Heaven and earth resound the hymn.
Salve, Salve, Salve Regina.

The procession of students who had just made their First Holy Communion carried flowers to place before the statue of Mary.  Today was May Crowning.

May Crowning, the feast that recognizes Mary as the queen of heaven and earth.

During this mass, the student body recognized the students who were to take Holy Communion with the student body for the first time.

The communicates as a group sang a song of praise. Please notice my sweet grandson who peeked around so I could see him and snap a photo.

All students were herded up to the altar for a photo, and after the photo all religious articles that they received from family and friends were blessed.

A reception with fruit and pastries was provided by last years students who made their First Communion for this years Communicants. All the students and guests thought it was very nice.

Pope Francis gave my grandson a high five for a job well done.
Just a cardboard cutout.

Oh Mary, we crown you with blossoms today,
Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May.

Immaculate Mary, your praises we sing.
You reign now in heaven with Jesus our King.
Ave, Ave, Ave, Maria! Ave, Ave, Maria!
