Thrift Finds

I am finding the thrift shops shelves bare and what is on the shelves is outrageously priced.  I did manage to find these reasonably priced items.

These gold rimmed, vibrant orange Blendo glasses, were priced at 49¢ each. I searched the shelves for the matching pitcher but wasn't able to find one.

Blendo glasses

I found this hammered metal casserole holder/carrier, tossed on the bottom self priced at just 99¢. It will hold round, rectangular, or oval bowls and bakeware.  I had just read a blog that had featured this carrier, and now I was lucky enough to find one.

You can carry your casserole to the table without  burning
your hands. No need for a hot pad when you this carrier.

The carrier will hold any size ...

small
medium
large

Can't wait to see what everyone else has found while thrift shopping.

Cheerfully,
Paulette

  1. Haven't bought anything from the thrift stores lately, but I think the bare shelves and the higher prices are a sign of this terrible economy. People are hurting. Even those who've never been frugal before are shopping thrift stores.

  6. The Blendo glasses are so pretty! I stopped by the S.A.this evening and the prices seemed higher than usual. There were rows and rows of red tagged items marked between 9.99 and 29.99. Disappointing!

  8. Love that casserole holder! I am drawn to the hammered metal pieces for some odd reason I haven't yet determined. I've never seen this piece before but you can bet if I do see one for 99 cents, I'm on it!

I recently saw a red transfer ware plate at the thrift marked at $9. I can buy that same plate at HomeGoods for $5.99 max. What are they thinking?
